Soccer

We made it through Hanna, a little wind, some rain, and a dry, beautiful day to show for it. We did have a limb come down on the power lines, some sparks, some smoke, some flames... Luckily, Kathy was on her front porch when the limb fell. She saw the smoke so her and Chris called the electric company who quite promptly came out to do some trimming and take care of the problem. Thank you LeBlanc's and thank you National Grid. Once we saw the situation was under control, the kids and I headed to church. David had to work. Today's message was quite timely, for me. It was a blessing to be there.

After lunch, MacKenzie suited up for her soccer game, and we all loaded up and headed to the fields. This was the first game of the season so you could tell the players were green. KWIM? MacKenzie was happy to be back out there though. It was also nice to reunite with friends who were also out on the fields with their children. Soccer is definitely a social event.

Once we came home from the soccer game I had to ice the cake I had made for our AWANA (http://awana.org/) meet-n-greet. It was basically an open house to kick off the new year and introduce the new kids and parents to our program. We were so happy to have our neighbors, the Harvey's, the Kinahan's, and the Smith's all attend. All the children seemed genuinely happy to be there. The cake went fast. At least I got a chance to get a pic of the marbled effect to put in my cake book.
